Common Heat Craft Tools
Soldering Irons, is a hand tool that converts electrical energy into heat (typically 200°C–450°C) to melt filler metal (solder), creating strong, conductive joints in electronics, jewelry, and plumbing. It is primarily used for assembling circuit boards, repairing wiring, and, with specialized tips, for wood burning (pyrography), plastic welding, and jewelry making.
A Hot Fix Pen (or Applicator Wand) is a specialized, corded or battery-operated heating tool designed to apply heat-activated adhesive rhinestones, studs, or crystals to fabrics and other surfaces. It operates by heating a metal tip to melt the glue on the back of the "hotfix" gem, allowing it to securely bond to materials like denim, cotton, and leather.
It is essential to use this tool with hotfix stones (which have pre-applied glue) rather than non-hotfix stones.
Hot Foil Pens are handheld, USB-powered tools designed to apply heat-activated metallic foil to various surfaces like paper, leather, and wood for crafting and personalization. Featuring heated tips (50°C–200°C), they allow for quick efficient, and precise sculpting compared to traditional flame-heated metal instruments.
A Pyrography Pen is a handheld, electrically heated tool used to burn, scorch, or engrave designs onto natural materials, most commonly wood, but also leather, cork, and paper.

Styrofoam cutter is an electric, heat-based tool designed to cut, carve, and shape foam materials like EPS and XPS by melting through them with a nichrome wire or metal blade. These tools provide smooth, sealed edges without creating debris or noise. They come as handheld hot knives/pens or desktop, bow-stye cutters.
A Stencil Cutter is a specialized, often pen-shaped device designed to create custom stencils by cutting designs into materials like Mylar, acetate, or polyester sheets. These tools typically work via heat, allowing for smooth, precise, intricate cuts without requiring excessive pressure, making them a more efficient alterative to craft knives for detailed work.

- Heat Tool / Embossing Tool: A specialized, often lightweight and quiet tool used specifically for "heat embossing" (melting embossing powder on paper), drying inks, paints, and glues, or shrinking plastic. These usually produce a gentler, more focused airflow that does not scatter lightweight powders.
- Heat Gun: A more powerful, higher-temperature tool (often 200°F–600°F+), designed for more intensive tasks such as stripping paint, removing bubbles from resin, bending plastics, and heavy-duty shrink wrapping.
